It works in my O3 S with the harmon kardon setup. At first the buttons on the left are a little balky for changing stations. It does some weird things with wanting to select channel 255 occassionally, and it is a tricky thing having to hit the button for a second to go thru the presets versus the continuously holding and the scanning thru the channels, but it is such a neat installation that I forgive it for its idiocyncracies....

I have exactly the same issues but otherwise I am very happy with xm direct. One other problem i have is that sometimes the sound cuts out for a second or two. When i switch stations its back on again. This seems to happen only with one station... any issues like that effect you?

Well, you can buy the whole kit with the XMdirect box and the Blitzsafe adaptor at www.radiosandmore.com , www.myradiostore.com and I think someone posted that Classic MINI sells them as well and they are a sponsor here. I'm not sure where you can buy the blitzsafe adaptor without the XMdirect box though.

You can buy the xm unit from circuit city or crutchfield for $49.00 and the adaptor can be had now for 150.. total $200.00. Go online to enfig. Email Christine at info@enfig.com. She just quoted me the $150.00. You can shop around and maybe get lucky...good luck , but dont pay more than $200.00

I already bought mine months ago. I almost ordered it before my car came in November but I was waiting for another product Blitzsafe was working on called the Skylink that would have alllowed the Delphi SkyFi to plug in and owrk just like the XMDirect. The guys at Blitzsafe had some problems with their manufacturing partner and AFAIK, the product has never been brought to market. At any rate, I got tired of no XM so I just ordered the XM Direct.

It is nice to see the cost come down a little as I was lucky to find one for $289.00 at the time I purchased it.

Sirius tuner box: $79. Free if you can find a 902 model.
Sirius is so much better. If you listen to it you will see. & there getting Howard Stern.

XM works much better with steering wheel controls. A more seamless install.also it is my understanding that the display will not show artist and titles of music.

seems to be an interesting dual function control on the steering wheel.

If you just blip the up or down, it goes up or down your presets

If you hold up or down for more than a second, it defaults to going up or down the channels in sequence, starting at the channel you're on

If you push and hold the middle button, then release, you get the cyclic display of the station themes, i.e. NEWS / ROCK / COUNTRY etc

Press the center button again briefly to stop the cycling display at the theme you want - it then selects the first channel in the theme for you

Use the up channel method to go through that themes channels

Hope it makes sense!!

Chris.
