R56 Bluetooth - Why No Bluetooth Audio?

When I press Siri (iPhone 6S), it comes through Bluetooth. Same with maps. Why can't I push audio through as well? (Instead of having to plug into the y-cable?)

Thank you in advance!

In the R56 (and other 2nd gen models), Bluetooth streaming audio is only available if you have MINI Connected.

There have been threads about working around it:

Thank you for the links. I discovered the Bluetooth y cable and may just try it.

That's probably the best option. I went with a bluetooth to aux-in device, also around $20, but had to purchase a ground loop isolator to eliminate a high-pitched whine in the audio for $10. the y-cable adapter is likely more functional and you might be able to use the steering wheel controls too.
