Aftermarket DVD Player Touchscreen with Original Visual Boost

Hello,

I have a Countryman SX 2013 which has Visual Boost. Now, I want to use Chinese aftermarket DVD GPS instead of Visual Boost.

Is it possible to combine the original visual boost's speedo with chinese android dvd gps player for Mini Cooper?

The speedo of chinese model is horrible and if it is possible, I want to combine them.

Waiting for your reply, thank you.

I am doing this right now actually. I bought the factory Nav Ring on ebay for under $100 and I am loading an android phone in the screen area. Sure it does not function as back up camera or have DVD support, but it will function to run nav and media via bluetooth to the amps.

I was very close to getting the Chinese insert but when i found the cheap factory ring on ebay it made clear sense. The Blu 7.0 2 phone will go in place with minimal widening of the encosure. you could go smaller but then you would be filling in space with masking. I sure would like a back up camera that comes on when i start in reverse, but for under $200...its hard to beat.

I'm working on it too - I've got a "seicane" unit and yes, the speedo is terrible but the display is pretty nice.
Adam, can you please take pictures of the back of your Nav ring with measurements or a tape measure? It would be SWEET if the Chinese unit could be chopped up to fit the OEM ring...
