cell phone with radio?
is there anything to make a cell phone work with the radio like with the bluetooth feature you can get from the factory, without paying like a thousand dollars? i'm looking for something that will inturrupt the radio when someone calls, and allow me to use hands free conversation
Sony Bluetooth HCB-30 and stereo mute cable
Sony Ericsson has a bluetooth car kit HCB-30 and special cable that can pass the audio thru the stereo system. However, you must have bluetooth phone. Right now.. there are a lot of Sony HCB-30 on the eBay at reasonable price. The cable is arond $40. I am looking for similar solution myself.

The ericsson cable does not fit the mini without chopping off the ends & chopping your factory wiring
Once you have a hands free kit you need an autoleads pc6 076b kit This is an interface that will plug straight in to the Boost radio, power the hands free kit, mute the radio & put the sound through tha car speakers. (one of the wires on the interface needs moving to a different pin - if you get one I can tell you which)
Not sure who the USA agent for autoleads is

Replacement is not an option for me I just picked up my 2nd MINI and this time around I went all out. Well... as far out as my pocket book could handle.
I got all 3 packages, chrome int, HK Stereo my steering wheel even has the blue tooth phone and R/T buttons on the left side. I went out and sold my SidekickII for a Razor and thought I was set, but alas after reading here I realize I may have to fork over a good chunck of change to get it all to work.
I dont understand why I have the steering wheel buttons but no receiver for BT? I thought I was buying a Blue Tooth ready car. Never the less we love our new MINI. So if I want it all to work as designed will I need to get a MINI BT reciever???

newministuff.com has plug-and-play kits that work with the stock radio (mute music and play through speakers and even work with the MFSW buttons) and install easily. I have one with a Sony HCB-300 and it works great. About $80 for the harness plus the cost of the car kit you choose.

Sony/Ericsson's HCB-30 and 300 and the Parrot CK3000 both do this. I have the HCB-30 in my MINI and the Parrot in my Z3 Coupe. The Parrot was more expensive but has a much more sophisticated connect system, in that it can be plug and play. Both are cool and quite functional.
