We're planning a road trip in our 2011 mcs & would like to have a usb port to connect our music into. Is there any info on this subject on this forum ?

Yes. You can connect a flash drive with your MP3 files into the existing USB port in front of the front cup holders. I do this with a 32GB drive that I cut the housing off of to keep it small and out of the way.

I think the OP is asking if a USB ported can be added?

OP, do you have an AUX port? Need a bit more info on your mini..

You're correct AZdsrt, I would like to add a USB port to my '11 mcs. Is there any wiring back there to connect one to ? Thanks for the help.

This question comes up from time to time. I did a little poking around, found this -

Your '11 might fall in the needed production date range.

Also found this at ECS Tuning, though might be the same kit.

AZdsrt , that's the early kit up to before 11' production.

In 2011+ MINI went to the dual port , its under the toggle bank / aux port / usb . Before that it was aux port only unless order different or you got the ES1599517 . Upgrade kit.

Pre shrunk check under your toggle bank switches in the center console. You should see them. Then let me know what you want to use.
