Ultimately mini connected for me was money down the toilet. I tried the equalizer while it makes it better it still is not great.

I can't wait until someone posts with a real fix. I also think maybe if and when mini releases the iPhone 6 cradle it may work better. Nothing will fix the terrible sound quality of my R58's HK though unless I go aftermarket.

Holy Cow!!!

Was digging around on BMW's site looking at the connected update and there is firmware available for the actual Y cable. I am updating my cable now and will test out...

I performed the firmware update. I haven't noticed any differences.

how did you download the update? Mini web site wants you to login as a dealer in order to download. There are two updates. Not sure what either does because the docs are hidden also.

Google search "bmw firmware update"

The y adapter firmware update screen will appear.

Plug in the usb of your adapter into your computer

Download the update. The screen will show the current firmware version and the update version.

"Yes" to update

Done in 3 minutes

How to code PM?

In the Modul "MEDIA" you just need to code the value under USB1_IPOD_AUDIO fron "analog" to "digital" and you are able to use your Lightning Cable for audio also. So no need an Y-Cable anymore.
Could you explain this more clearly please? What is the PM and how do you "code" it?

For those with the Console

I went a different route with my 6. I purchased a used iPhone 4s console adapter off eBay ($35). Then simply purchased the 30 pin to lightning adapter. You'll have to do some modifying to the console to lock in the adapter. I haven't had any issues and by shopping around I have a cheaper solution.

Mini connected / y cable w/lightning adapter

Hi guys,

I have a 2012 R56s with mini connected. I currently use the Lightning adapter on the mini oem Y cable. Is there a way, I can just use the Lightning cable (white cable provided by apple) with the iPhone 6. I have tried connecting the Lightning cable, mini connected can see the phone, but there is no sound. Is there a solution for that?

If there is a way, I was thinking of just buying a longer Lightning cable from Apple and run it through in the arm rest.

I believe with that you'll need an audio cable too.

Need the Y adapter from MINI. The lightening cable wont work on its own. Some have had luck off ebay/amazon for cheapo ones. I have an adapter and an old y cable. Starting to wear out and will need to get a new one soon
