Alpine Hi Fi?

Does the Alpine upgrade/retrofit (available as an accessory) sound any good?

Right now I have the awful base hi fi system on my 2012 convertible S -- considering how to upgrade. The Alpine is about $1000 with installation. Integral Audio looks more appealing but would set me back about $3000 after installation. Thoughts?

While I can't speak to this kit specifically, I can say that I've had a lot of car audio gear from various manufacturers and Alpine is by far my favorite. So take this with a grain of salt...

My last setup included a pair of Type-R separates and Type-R coaxials. That metallic cone really pounded and the tweeters were made with a soft dome so the highs were crisp, but not tinny or abrasive.

If the hi-fi retrofit kit is even a fraction of their top end Type-R speakers, they should sound great.

You can DIY with just a trim panel tools ~$10, and some hand tools, all plug and play, no cutting, except for the carpet.
