R52 Stock radio question

Hi there!
I have a 2005 R52 Cooper S (European model) and was planning on installing the Sony MEX-BT3100U stereo. Besides the fascia adaptor, I was wondering if it is compatible with my car and if any other parts were needed to install it.

Anyone can assist? Thank you very much in advance!

Best,
RodFR

You may be lucky enough not to need the HK enabler.

So I should be good to go with just the head unit and the fascia adaptor, right? Standard radio, no HK system in..

you'll need the SOT-976 wiring adaptor and the FAKRA to DIN or ISO adaptor for the antenna.

You'll also need a BMW to Sony steering wheel remote adaptor. Often those can include the SOT-976.

I don't have steering wheel controls, so I assume the adapter won't be needed, right?
In regards to the sot-976, I've tried searching but couldn't clearly understand it's purpose, could you clarify, please? I'll also find out what the antenna adapter is (Din or ISO) and get the right one! Thanks a lot, joylove!!

The SOT-976 linked converts the BMW 40 pin TYCO Quadlok to two ISO connectors to suit the Sony.

So I finally got the head unit into my R52 05 MCS, as soon as I have some pictures I'll put them up here!
However, I couldn't connect it to the ignition of my Mini.. Anyone could help with this? Here you have the installation manual and what I got is the Autoleads SOT-976, as kindly suggested by joylove! http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4427434311.PDF

Thanks again, guys!!

Find the red and yellow wires on the Sony harness and swap the bullet connectors over.

In the meantime, I found out that the ignition cable was going to a different connector on the SOT-976, one that was not being used by the sony. I ended up using the red wire, stripping it and cutting the one where the ignition was connecting to (harness side, not on the car side), and got it working!
