2011 MCS Audio System

Hi Guys,

I am looking to upgrade audio system in my 2011 MCS hardtop(non HK system)

My criteria is
#1. < $500
#2. Keep stock looks and as little modifications as possible
#3. Nice clarity and sound stage(need not be window rattling)

I read through the other threads and am looking at basically upgrading the speakers only while keep the stock headunit and no amp/sub.

I am leaning towards Polk Audio DB6501 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component System in front and Polk Audio DB691 6-by-9-Inch 3-Way Speakers in rear based on good recommendations by other people in the forum.

However Amazon says the speakers will not fit my car.
Does anyone have experience with these speakers on 2011 MCS hardtop? Will they fit my car?

Also I was wondering as I don't plan to add a sub would it be worth paying for Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine I61-2V2 6.5" Component / Coaxial Speaker Set in front and Mirus M69-2 6x9" Coaxial Speaker Set in rear instead.

Is it really that better to justify the price difference?
And will they fit my car without modifications?

Looking forward for some advice from you guys

Read this thread.

Adding high power speakers will more than likely make your sound worse unless you add an amp or at the very least do the front rear channel swap.

I just did the channel swap, added tweeters in the A Pillars popped in a moderately priced pair of 6x9 speakers in rear.

Massive improvement for sure.
