Navigation & Audio Key Fov Accessory Power
Key Fov Accessory Power
I have searched all over the place and have come up completely empty handed.
I currently have an after market head unit, which was easy peasy to install with the new ribbon cable, etc. The problem I have is with the power to the unit.
Currently, I have to insert the key fob and then hit the START/STOP button (Turning the car on with the motor running) to get it to come on.
I would rather have it come on upon insertion of the key fob, but there isn't a single fuse in the panel that operates that way. I've checked all 30G and 30G_F fuses and they're all on when the car is off, minus a few which come on only with fob inserted, and start button pressed.
Does anyone know a way to make this work? Thanks in advance.

try just pressing the volume button in until it clicks. I use this when I have someone waiting in the car while i run an errand or something. It allows them to listen to the radio without needing the key. See if it works for you.
Have you checked the owners manual. It should tell you how to get accessory power. But in case your manual does not here is how it works.
1. Insert Fob
2. Press start button and engine starts
3. Press start stop button to turn engine off
4. Second press of start/stop button give you accessory off.
Unfortunately the action you seem to be looking for "accessory power on at insert of fob" is not an option.
It has been a while since I have last worked with the electronics in the car but here may be some suggestions.
But what you may want to research is the R-terminal. If my memory serves me correctly the R terminal runs on at unlock of the vehicle and will then turn off 15-30 minutes later if the car is not started. If car is started then the R terminal will turn off after 15-30 minutes after car has been turn off.
The only thing with the R terminal is that it can seriously drain your battery by leaving the stereo on for the long period after the engine has been turned off.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I figured that's the only way I'm going to be able to do it. Just sucks because when the key fob is entered into the vehicle, that tach and stereo turn on, however - those can always be turned on so I guess that's that. R Terminal it is. Thanks!
