I've noticed that I haven't been having good reception on my radio. I usually listen to cds, but when I did turn on my radio the other day, I had static on just about every station. Has anyone else had this problem?? I'm not sure if it's just the area that I'm driving through on my way to work, or if it could be due to the radar detector that I had installed.

Radar detector should not interfere with radio reception. Often, there are pockets of areas with bad receptions, especially in hilly areas with lots of mountains and valleys. When I was living in Seattle area, I always had bad reception in certain locations regardless of the car I drove.

I can't answer your question, but just a suggestion: try posting this in the audio forum, or send to private message to one of the moderators to move it for you. I think you'd be more likely to get knowledgeable responses there. The "MINI Talk" forum moves pretty quickly and things get lost rapidly, whereas in audio it would likely stay on the first page for a few days and get more views.

Not to suggest the obvious, but have you verified that your antenna is still attached to your car? It just screws off, so it's possible for kids (or adult hooligans) to steal it.
