I'm bummed; it looks like the Kinivo is out of stock, web wide.

This might be a nice replacement (yeah, I know I'm a bit late).
Amazon.com: Avantree Cara-Bluetooth 4.0 Music Receiver and Hands-Free Carkit for iOS and Android (A2DP): Cell Phones & Accessories Amazon.com: Avantree Cara-Bluetooth 4.0 Music Receiver and Hands-Free Carkit for iOS and Android (A2DP): Cell Phones & Accessories

Just ordered one for myself especially because it has support for the Apt-X codec and BT 4.0 that boost audio quality and battery life (among other things).

Great news everyone! The company just informed the that the Kinivo BTC450 is back in stock! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NLTW60 Can't wait for mine to come! Attempting to drive stick shift and change the music while driving is so dangerous!

Has anyone been having a problem with the BTC450 disabling the aux input on the head unit? Mine likes to randomly do this even when I lower the input level to 1. I found on the BMW forums of people having this problem with their E46's. Some feel that there is a power leakage into the input line that causes the aux input to fail.
Any help would be appreciated.

John

Mine does the same exact thing, John! It is both infuriating and a bummer! I've even tried a second BTC450. I can't 100% determine whether it's the radio's fault or the BTC450's fault, because regular wired AUX works fine, and also because I haven't tested the BTC450 on any other cars. I think the problem is the BTC450 doesn't output enough voltage (or signal strength) to AUX for the radio to realize that something is actually being sent into AUX. If this is the case, then the BTC450 has a design flaw. I've talked to Kinivo about it and all they say is they don't know about it. They sent me another device and it did the same thing.

Radio sees the aux input when nothing is plugged in, so I doubt if it is a low voltage problem. I'm thinking it is the opposite. I think the head unit shuts down the input because it's sensing too high a voltage. I am this close to opening the thing up and troubleshooting (I am electrical engineer). I'll let you know what happens...

Mine has never had the issue. I also know 2 others with these and none of them have issues.

There is a known issue with ground voltage causing the aux to disappear. Ground your device at the radio rather than the cig lighter, or use a ground loop isolator.
