6x9 mounting depth?

What is the mounting depth on the R56 (rear, of course) 6x9speaker?

I have some Alpine 6x9's I want to install and I don't want to tear apart the whole rear interior if I know ahead of time they won't fit.

They're about 3 3/4" deep so I'd need about 4" to fit with a bit of breathing room.

My Kicker 6x9s are 3 3/16" deep, so I cannot compare. I found this link on the MINI2 forum: http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-gen...ker-depth.html. The forum posts refer to metric measurements, so 3 3/4" comes out to 92.25cm. Since most of the posts in that thread are deeper, I would say you are fine.

The panels pop off fairly easily. You have to start with taking out the two rear seat cushions. Latches are at the bottom post between them. If you are concerned with breaking trim tabs, you can always buy a trim tool kit at your local auto parts store.
