Navigation & Audio Ipod Y Cable long enough to reach ProClip?
Navigation & AudioAudio upgrades, bluetooth, and navigation discussions surrounding the Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs.
I was about to order a ProClip for the Coupe but wasn't sure if the Y cable was long enough to reach the ProClip mount off of the glove-box. They should be same as the R56 so I figure they would work.
anyone use this to hold a Garmin? I have a suction mount and a beanbag mount and they both suck. It is a PIA when they pop off while driving down the road espcially on twisties

They have a bunch of garmin holders that fit on the ProClip mount so it should work pretty well. Haven't seen a pic of the setup though.
It works well but if you get a pass-through cradle for the iPhone, you may need to use some zip ties to keep the cable snug. Without it the cable would drop out a little and I would loose iPod control:

I would be curious to see how the Garmin looks mounted.
walk0080 is it easy to read from the drivers seat with it on the other side of the speedo? looks good there
The iPhone screen is pretty small for GPS but I don't have any issues. I rely heavily on the voice navigation part anyways. I use the Navigon app which also pronounces the street names. Plus the car small so it's not too far away
It works pretty well - and if I take a phone call using Bluetooth, the navigation prompts continue to play through the car speakers.
I will get pics this week been busy and haven't had time to get any pics of it. It works well and seems secure. The mount seems well bilt but only time will tell.
I'm about to buy a ProClip setup but I'm not sure if I should get the standard iPhone 4S holder or the one with the pass=through. It does seem pretty convenient to not have to unplug the phone each time but I guess the price intimidated me a little bit since most setups were going for $40, this whole package is $118. What if the iPhone 5 is completely different this summer, I'm assed out right?
