Check out Integral Audio. They make the best subwoofer system for the car and will soon be coming out with a complete system that should be be amazing!

Integral audio has a sub right now and a full complete kit coming out soon. Check with them to see when it will be released.

Also read thru the many threads here on what types of upgrades others have done. We do not need yet another thread with all that info in it.

That looks nice, and the specs look good...but damn that's a lot of money for a sub after buying the HK system :P

At a minimum, decent component speakers for the doors (and an amp, as I have found out, especially if it is a R57).

Definitely replace the front door speakers, add a sub, and power it all with an amp.

If I had the money I would have gone with the Integral Audio stuff but I had to keep it on a budget so I went with some Pioneer speakers up front, 6.5" in the door, 4" in the armrest, a Pioneer 10" shallow mount sub that came with an enclosure, and a rockford fosgate Punch P400 amp I already had from my last car.

It sounds great and about a million times better than the stock system.

And although I've never heard it, from everything I've read here, if you have the money you can't go wrong with the Integral Audio system.

I have both the IA sub and Soundstage. Kevin Bennett the owner of IA installed both for me in his shop in Brooklyn. The sub was done in the spring of this year. The front Soundstage was done in September.

Since he does not really advertise or have a retail store for you to take a listen, hit me up via PM if you live in NYC/LI/Rockland or Orange counties or North Jersey. I live in Rockland county NY. Take a ride over to my area and have a listen.

Its is simply incredible. All plug and play. The sub is is hidden in the boot too:

How much did it end up costing in all? And also do you have any pics of it?

The 4 speakers for the front door were approx 150, the sub was 125, installation costs were about 125 for everything including the amp. Overall everything ended up under 500 and although I don't have one to compare it to, I'm pretty sure it sounds better than the HK system.

The only thing I didn't have to buy was the amp because I already had it.

I don't really have any pics because the speakers are behind the door panel...the 6.5" are a perfect fit in the door and the 4" are a perfect fit for the door handle. The Pioneer sub I got is very cool. It's obviously not designed specifically for the car like the IA system is but it fits almost perfectly in the trunk of the car and since it's a very thin enclosure and the sub points downward, it basically creates a new floor for the trunk and doesn't really eliminate any storage space. The amp itself I just velcroed to the floor of the trunk next to the sub.

I did post some stock images of all the speakers on the other thread towards the end of the thread. Just check the last 2 or 3 pages and you'll see the pics there.

After some initial installation issues (engine whine) which were a result of the installer not being knowledgeable enough to be able to diagnose and fix the problem, now that that's been fixed I couldn't be happier with it. Makes the car a million times more enjoyable to drive.

Oh man do I feel like an idiot! Alzheimers is getting to me. I thought I had posted the pics of the speakers on this forum but it turns out it was on another completely different forum.

Anyway, here's what I put in the car --

6.5" in the door

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TSD160...2083987&sr=8-6

Pioneer 4" in the front armrest location:

Pioneer 10" sub in the trunk:

http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-SWX...2084282&sr=1-3

For some reason, the price of the sub has jumped a lot since I bought mine. When I bought it, it was listed at $123 delivered. Now it's $180 delivered. I guess word is getting out about them.

And here's the amp:
