Greetings. So 3rd dat with my new MINI. I have a question.

When I get into the car and start it, the system most of the time is just on. And just a few times, there is this great MINI logo, and then it starts.

In short, looks like the system stays booted up even when the car is off? Any idea that the deal is here? I like the logo when I start it.

Yeah the car's many computers/modules start when you press the unlock on the FOB or open a door. So by the time you see the screen it is probably completed its starting process. Additionally, the computers don't shut down for about a half hour after you shut off the vehicle (as long as you don't open or close a door or press a lock or unlock button on the FOB).

 

As strobeyprobey said but to add one thing to it. If the car is locked and you use the fob to unlock it then yes you probably will not see the screen. Yet if the car is unlocked and has been sitting for more than 30-40 minutes then the electronics will not have started on the unlock (as it did not happen) and thus you will be in the car to see the start screen.

 

Thanks guys. That is a smart design, but sad too, the MINI logo just looks so good.
