Ipod/HK weirdness

Just picked up my 2011 last week which has the factory Ipod/BT cable along with the HK system. I transferred the exact same Ipod from my '09 to this car, it's a 2-3 year old Classic that I use only in the car.
My problem is it seems to randomly be playing through a song, then just cuts it off before it ends and moves on to the next tune. It also sometimes displays the wrong song title and if I hit the back button quick enough it will restart with the song that is displayed. I generally run my Ipod on shuffle and the head unit on random all the time and this never happened on my previous MINI. Does this sound like an Ipod problem? or something with my MINI's radio/interface?

I have seen this behavior on both a 60Gb classic and one other. I suspect it's ipod firmware to be honest.

Also, the reason i say ipod and not the MINI kit is that I saw the SAME behavior in my first gen MINI with the DICE kit, a third party product.

I've been having this problem on my '06 MCS with the HK stereo... This is my first Mini so I thought it might be the iPod. I think it's Mini specific because I use the same iPod in my Nissan and have never had a single glitch in 4 years.

??

Rgds,
John

I have not plugged it into Itunes in awhile. I'll do that tonight and see if it wants to do some updating.

I have this problem, occasionally, with my first gen iTouch. When it happens it seems to happen a lot and then it doesn't happen for weeks.

I uploaded the latest version of Itunes last night on my laptop, then plugged my trusty car Ipod in....and it tells me my software version is the newest. Plugged it back in the car and still having the same issues. It's not every song, just maybe one out of 5 but that's quite a bit of error rate really. I've got other Ipods and an Iphone, will try them out before ruling out my hardware.

I have a 2011 mini and my ipod classic does the same thing, I have updated the ipod software and restored the ipod and it will work better for a while but will eventually start doing it again.

I plan on taking it to the dealer at some point when I have time.
