I want to mount an amp with the dimensions of 11" x 9" x 2". I would really like to keep it out of the boot. Any ideas?

Under either of the front seats. If you dont have Nav, there is a foam spacer taking the place of the computer under the passenger's seat, beneath the carpeting. A similar cavity exists under the driver's seat as well.

I have mine installed there.. IT was a close fit.. not sure of the dimensions.. I'll find out, and let you know. I have it on the drivers side under the seat.

Thanks

The cavity dimesions are 16.5" x 10.5". The depth varies from 1.5" to 2.75".

When mounted under the seats, is it on top of the carpet? If not, will there be heating issue? As in the boot compartment, is there heating problems?

No the cavities in the floor are under the carpet. Here's a picture of my two amps in the cavity under the drivers seat:

And here's what I did to vent them:

For lots more pics and descriptions click the link in my sig then click on "Audio System Install".

In the boot area there are three locations. Inside one or both of the rear quarter panel access areas-only the smallest of amps will fit. Xtant makes a little mono amp that fits. On the back of the rear seats or on the floor of the boot (that is the one location closest to the battery and exhaust that heat could be a factor. Many owners will put a flat cover over the amp to create a false floor to the boot with carpeting for a stealth look or maybe a window to see the amp underneath.

I have a NAV system so my passsenger under seat area is of limits.
Is there an identical space under the driver's side? I also have the heated seats so i see a big wire coming from the carpet to the seat.

I am considering the JL Audio amp shown in pics on this forum.

There is an identical cavity under the driver's seat. The heated seat cable isn't a problem.
