Help adding Sirius to 2006 stock system, SC-C1 Sirius Connect Universal

I'd like to add Sirius to my 2006 MINI S which has the stock H/K head unit.

I know that to add the OEM box, it takes about $250 for the tuner, then about $45 for the mounting kit, and then another $50 or so for the antenna. This adds up quite a bit, even though I'm doing the install myself.

I really want the stock head unit to display the artist/title and to use the steering wheel controls, so I didn't want to use an external unit.

I have found that there is a plug in module for "satellite ready" radios like the MINI head unit, it's called the SIRIUS SCC1 Connect Universal Tuner and it's here on Amazon for $47 with free shipping:
http://www.amazon.com/SIRIUS-SCC1-Co.../dp/B000Q9UFKU

It says that you need an "adapter" or interface to your stock Toyota/GM/etc radio, or Sony/Kenwood/Alpine/etc aftermarket radio.

I've looked and looked all over the internet, even on the manufacturer's website and can't find any "adapter" for BMW/MINI. I've found some outdated links that look like maybe the adapter existed at one time.

Does anybody have any experience with this SC-C1 tuner?

Or is there any way to add the kind of OEM functionality that the stock MINI Sirius stock parts would give me without paying for the dealer $300 or $400 option?

Thanks much!

I'm looking to do the same thing. Does your MCS have the Nav system?

slapshot8999,
No mine does not have the Navigation.

Also I have not yet done this because I cannot find the "adapter" that I mentioned to tie the Sirius SCC1 Universal Tuner to the MINI stock radio.

Apparently no one has done this either, maybe because there is no adapter made for our cars.

Let me know if you find out anything!
