Weird... my last post was blank. Here goes again...

The Kuda mounts look really sharp... but I use an Incase 'shell' for my iphone so it won't fit the standard mounts... needs an 'adjustable' width holder... I talked to the distributor in Texas before the hols and he said if he had that he'd sell twice as many.

Q: Why are you guys using the ProClip mount with the Kuda base; why not just use the Kuda iphone mount?

Why on earth would you buy a car that didn't have the USB/bluetooh option? It's not like there is a shortage of FOR SALE Minis...

Anyway, I ordered mine with the integrated smartphone option. The Iphone goes in the armrest.

Some new Applications for the Iphones are causing people the desire not have them in the armrest but rather use them as a GPS etc. This is why having a mount that is in front of the drivers view while still using the blue tooth for making and receiving calls is an option that several people are looking into. Now if I could just get someone besides AT&T to carry the iPhone as their phone coverage where I work does not exist.

I thought about that too, but AT&T wants $10 a month extra for nav. Sorry, but I can buy a new Garmin every 1 1/2 years with a way better interface and features.

I'm pretty sure any other app I want to run, (REV, Dynolishious...) I can run from the armrest, and data log it.

I run Google Maps I like the traffic feature that is free and would end up paying a subscription on several of the Garmin products I have owned over the years.

One of the main points of REV is to add gauges. What good is a coolant temp gauge when hidden in the arm rest?

Next weekend (weather permitting) I'll be going on a NorCal MINIs run to Ano Nuevo State Beach. Several of us will be running MINI Link. It wouldn't be much use if you can't see the screen.

You can also buy Navigon with traffic and use that without monthly fees. There are many more nav apps to chose from.

I also want to be able to play with my music as well so need it (the iPhone) in clear view.

There is a program called "WAZE." It's free, has traffic and turn by turn directions. It works really well. It had an overhead and 3d view of the roads. It also had a day and night feature.

As for a mount, I got this one. It mounts to the floor bolt on the passenger seat. It has a 15 inch movable neck.

Look at the reviews in the Apple Store. 1.5 stars out of five.
