You don't need a new radio. Get a Blitzsafe adapter, an XM direct box & play it through your current radio.

If you already have a sat radio that needs to plug into a jack, you can add the jack.

This is for XM. For Sirius there is a box you can buy from MINI. Your current radio is satellite ready.

Our XM Direct lets you use your factory radio display and controls to listen to XM with no need for a separate receiver mounted on your dash.

When I power up my radio is says Sirius. As you've said there is AM-FM CD & Aux plus the Sirius.

Here is a link to a whole lot of info about the Blitzsafe XM Direct install. Unfortunately the pictures are now gone.

Same here....it sounds great, is a clean factory style install, no second display or controler. The only minus is the limited display on the MINI head.

Once you plug it in, it will recognize it.

I have the factory Sirius unit (DIY installed though, very easy!). It becomes another "mode" you scroll through once it is installed. AM/FM/CD/SIRIUS is the order, I believe. It wouldn't make much sense for it to show up before it was installed...
