iPhone 3Gs options?

Hiya,

I've gotten rather confused about what works and doesn't work with the iPhone 3G S and the dealer I talked to seemed to think a 3G S couldn't be connected in to a 2006 MCS?

I'm like to be able to:

* charge

* listen to music from the iPod function

* answer calls, preferrably hands-free

I had a charger for a previous iPod Touch, but the 3G S says that charging is not supported on the device. And it also broadcast the iPod through FM radio, which it still does on the new iPhone ... but I still have to hold it to pick up calls.

Any thoughts on items that would give me this functionality?

I have an iPhone 3GS too. To charge it and listen to music from the iPod, I use the DICE Silverline Pro kit. It's a little flakey (sometimes needs to be turned off and on to re-connect to iPod Nano or iPhone 3GS), but aside from that it works nicely. Costs about $160-180 depending on the vendor, install is fairly easy. I've posted some install notes near the end of the AES DICE Thread.

I also have the Aux Stereo Input kit installed. It runs about $30-40 and is a breeze to install.

Regarding answering calls ... your options are the expensive yet ugly factory kit (an overpriced Parrot unit that glues to your dashboard), or a kit sold by NewMiniStuff.com in the UK: Bluetooth MFSW integration hands free kit for 1st Gen Minis with MFSW with phone buttons (I haven't tried this kit, but it's on my list, come holiday bonus time. )

They also have a number of other phone kits, including some which support iPod AND don't use (or require) the multifunction steering wheel. Much cheaper, probably just as good as my over-complex setup

Hope this helps!
