Installing a Pioneer TS-WX11a active sub
After reading the topic regarding the Boss Bass 600 install, I wanted to buy the Boss active sub. But unfortunatelly this sub is not available here in Holland. So next best thing is to buy the Pioneer TS-WX11a.
After thorough investigation of the x9331 connector. I used the rear speakerleads for my active subwoofer input signal. (I have the Hifi upgrade in my Cooper S). Connecting the wires via T-connectors and connecting the other end via cinch connectors (this kabel was delivered together with the pioneer sub). Connecting the powerlead and mass (-) the same way like the Boss Bass 600 install. (via het cigaret/aux socket in the boot of the car). So remote works... amp is activated, and there is a signaal... but it is very very weak. So maybe I accidentally connected the + on the - of the input signal. Changed one of the connections... no luck. Still the same problem.
Frustrated I unplugged the cinch connector from the sub, and to my suprice, I got a very loud sound from the sub. So plugging the cinch connectors half-way got me the thumpa thumpa which I wanted. (only the plus of the cinch connected) But still... how is this possible... and does anybody know what I did wrong?
I just don't get it...
Your help is much appreciated!
