Mini Bluetooth paired perfectly but I don't know where else to ask this question.

I paired my LG Chocolate 3 with my 2009 Mini and phone book loaded, all good. I went to pair the same phone with my 2006 bmw X3. It paired, but it just sits on "Phone Book Loading" forever. Waited over 10 minutes. I tried shutting off the car, shutting off the phone, restarting both. But still the same, I go to phone and nav screen says "Phone Book Loading."

Anyone have an idea of what I can check or do to resolve?

It is totally oposite with me...I can;t get my LG ENV to load it's phone book...it paired to the Mini and works hands free but will not load the phone book.

In this case you probably will not be able to ever get it to pair with the BMW X3 as it uses a different bluetooth module. It seems every year BMW/MINI comes up with a new module and when that happens it in some cases breaks functionality for some and enhances functionality for others. Also LG phone are know to be problems with bluetooth as they really only like other LG brand Accessories. It has to do with LG not following the bluetooth standard and adding propriety data to the bluetooth data stream so that it does not work well with other bluetooth capable units.

This has been a know problem with many LG phones and well documented here on the forums. LG broke the connection sometime around firmware version 5. It was working with firmware version 3 and then when LG updated the firmware to V5,7,10 they no longer worked.

I believe that there has been one report of the LG Env working on a higher firmware version after V11 but i am not sure it is has been confirmed. The best place to check for that is in the Bluetooth Compatibility Thread (sticky at the top).

 

I've asked them to confirm the firmware version, but haven't heard back.
