Since I desided to go with an s for our new MINI vs getting the nav like in our other MINI I will need to get a GPS. I like the fm traffic of the factory nav and found the garmin 265wt and 755/65 have fm traffic as well. Does any one have this unit in a MINI? If so how do you like it, how did you mount it?

 

I have a Garmin 755, which I like especially for the "Lane Assist" feature. Nice GPS, easier to see and more capable than my previous Garmin 350. I prefer to mount my GPS units on the speed face, in the NE corner, with the plug going down to the cigarette lighter socket. This is a convenient, low effort mounting spot which both works well in operation and allows me to quickly uninstall the GPS/mount and stash them out of sight when parking in urban areas. This arrangement does not leave a suction cup mark on the windshield, a tell-tale which GPS thieves are said to look for before breaking into a vehicle.

 

I've had the 265T for a couple of months now, I don't use it much since Hubby is a very good Co-Pilot, I got it for me, I'm directionaly challenged!! So when I want to venture out alone, which isn't often I'll have some idea as to where I'm going and most important how to get HOME!!

I did not get the 265WT, due to the wide screen, in hind sight though I think I would have prefered that one better due to the QWER being correct.

I mount it on the left side of the windshield using the mount that came with it. I've got a bag in the back of Molly that all of my gadgets go into when not in use and it along with the mounts and cables fits perfectly.
