Accessory Wire Into Fuse Panel

Just installed a Pioneer 7000bt into my 02 Cooper S. Used a wiring harness from the fine folks at crutchfield and all is well save for the fact that the accessory wire they provide to go into the fuse panel doesn't seem to signal to the head unit to turn off when the car does.

Their instructions point to a 25a fuse for the wipers but I don't seem to have any fuses that are 25a. I tried the 20a fuse for the wipers but it doesn't respond correctly.

If I disconnect the cable it powers down the Head and plugging it back in simply tells it to stay on (unless I manually power it off or remove the face plate).

So in short, does anyone know what I might be doing wrong, or perhaps if there is another way to get signal from the ignition for such a feature. Many thanks in advance.

Try Hooking into the "engine fuse".....it with rest of stack under kick panel by left foot. That will provide power when key to ignition is turned on. I think it's a 30 amp, and your radio will only draw what it needs from this circut. & make sure you have spares before you start tinkering around down there. Dont want to get stranded......

Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a shot tomorrow morning.

Funny you should mention spares, while fumbling with the previous fuse in an awkward half upside down position I dropped one into the black hole just below the panel.
