Wiring routing when installing factory CD changer

Hi:
I'm looking to get a factory cd-changer for my '05 MCS. My car has the plugs taped in the passenger side cubby hole, but how do I route the cables from the wiring, out of the cubby hole, and into the changer itself? I don't see any holes in the cover plate, nor in the panel itself, for getting two wires/plugs out of there. Do I need to leave the cubby hole cover plate semi-loose so I can get the wires through the gap between the edge of the panel and the cover plate? That will look cheap and unfinished
