Does anyone know if the new 2004 antenna is satellite ready?

 

I wouldn't hold my breath...

 

Only one or two of the MINIs being built last week when I visited the factory had shark fin antennas ... were they "2004" spec?
Can't see any reason why MINI would add cost to every car like that.

 

Have to be '04s. The '04 run should have started a few weeks ago. Once they shift to '04s there aren't going to be anymore '03s built.

As for the shark fin debate. According to all the official missives put out by MINIUSA, just as before shark fins only go to Nav equipted MINIs. MINIUSA has said that they WILL NOT be developing a Siruis radio kit for Nav equipted MINIs, they don't feel that there is a high enough penetration level to justify the costs.

Putting a shark fin on a non-Nav MINI is pointless. In the US the fin is ONLY used for the GPS antenna. Supposedly non-US spec MINIs also have a provision for a GSM antenna in the shark fin as well.

However on ALL Nav equipted MINIs the FM antenna is imbedded in the right rear window. The shark fin is not used for radio reception.

 

Hi, I have a 2009 JCW Clubman. Does anyone know where I can buy a shark fin antenna with XM/SIRIUS /GSM/GPS/AM/FM reception? Thanks guys!
