Disabling auto volume control...

I finally brought myself to upgrade the lousy HIFI sound system. I installed the JL audio clean sweep along with an alpine 5 channel amp and I can't believe how well everything sounds once the speakers receive some clean power! The biggest gripe I have is how I cannot get an accurate baseline as to what the stereo volume setting is everytime I start the car. The mini hifi system automatically lowers the volume as a courtesy to the driver so one isn't startled if the last volume setting is too loud. Since I now have two volume control ***** (one for the stock stereo and one for the JL clean sweep) accurately controling the volume is a frustrating task.

So, my question is this....Does anyone know how to turn off this feature? In addition, the speed sensitive volume is a pain in the *** too! If it was possible to remove the head unit and use an aftermarket setup I would be all for it!

Thanks!

-Steve

The speed sensitive volume can be reduced (essentially turned off), via the audio config menu. Dunno about the other option.
