Show me your iPod Instalation

I am going threw the process of deciding how to install my 5th gen. 30 gb video Ipod .

Was not sure if I wanted to do a DIY cupholder,

Kuda mount with a proclip device holder up high on dash between Speedometer and air vent.

Or just go with the Proclip mount and Proclip device holder.

Was wondering if anyone else may have already installed their Ipods to their MINI . Did anyone do it differently .
Would love to see some pictures .

I will post some pics up of my install once I figure it all out .

Here is my install

I compromised between the Kuda mount and diy cupholder . Went with the proclip mount and proclip Ipod holder.

Having trouble embedding pictures so I gave a link to my gallery. How do you place a picture into the post ?

Nice setup, just like mine! I haven't invested in the one that holds the dock cable yet though. Waiting for iPhone 2.0.

When creating a message, click the "image" button (the one that looks like a mountain) and plug in the url of your image. To get the url, go to your gallery, right click on the pic itself and open the image in a new window (or copy image address). The url in the address bar will be the url of the image.

Newbie question, do you guys not have the sync option cable? I was planning on just hooking mine up and throwing it in the glovebox, out of site and control it from the MFS wheel... or am I missing something?

Thanks.

First things first. Sound.
When we picked our 08 MCS out of the lot, we never bothered to inquire about this option. I thought that it was optional.
Once the electronic savvy son of mine got in it, he quicly notice the AUX. inlet jack mount under the dash.
It was nice to see that adapting the IPod wasn't going to cost me more than two bucks.

Not wure what you mean by the SYNC OPTION CABLE but there is a USB/Auido cable that is used if you have the iPod integraton. this cabel suspplies the ability to control the iPod from the radio controls and audio in to the radio. The USB connector also allows you to use a USB Thumb Drive with music on it and also control that from the radio contorls. If you do not have the iPod integration then my understanding is that there is only an external audio connection available to have an MP3 player provide music into the stereo and at that point you only contorl the volume with the stereo.

The MFSW only will allow control of the volume and moving forward and backward of tracks. It will not allow you to get to playlists, scroll through artists, scroll albums etc, Those functions are done by the dial and buttons under the radio display or nav display.

The unfortunate thing is that you wold have to take part of the dash apart and possibly cut some holes to get the wiring into the glove box.
