Installing new model Garmin Nuvi

I originally posted this on "1st generation MINI", excuse my blunder, I'm getting an '08 coupe any day now:
Has anyone tried to install a 600-700 series Garmin Nuvi where the smaller MINI version, the Garmin 350 is placed. I've been informed that the connections are different and it is too wide for MINI's mount, but I wonder if the mount and connections couldn't be modified in some way to make it work and if anyone has done it. Or perhaps there is another mount available to hard wire it at that location.

Get the Kuda mount. Search the threads for it. You can hardwire the power cord by using an "add a circuit" to the fuse box and install a female cigar lighter socket. Also run a 3.5mm to the Aux port and you can use the Nuvi MP3 player with pretty decent sound and get voice prompts over the car audio. Look for a right angle 3.5mm cable. All these wires can be run behind the dash panels. Only one thing, you will need to drill a quarter in hole in the back of the center stack cubby to get the wire to the Aux port
