SIRIUS Radio for 2004- $500?

I noticed on the MiniUSA website, that Sirius can be ordered, but is $500 ($525/Harmon Kardon), how does this hook into the unit?

Also, that seems DAM expensive, anything particularly special about
paying the $500 for it to be dealer installed? Do the steering wheel
controls work with it? Does the factory display work for stations and
info and such? Presets on the headunit?

I mean GM can put XM into a Caviler for hardly anything??? I figure
the breakdown of something like this for Sirius-
$99 for the aux input installed
$50 for a Terk antenna
$150 for a base Sirius unit
$70 for the install of the base-unit+antenna

Thats about $190 cheaper

Just so you know... yes, the steering wheel controls still work, it displays everything right on the head unit, it's own presets, etc..

and guess what, after that $500, you still have to pay for installation.

Thus, I don't have it.

F15- thanks for the followup. Since I own a Sony XM unit and
extra Terk antenna, looks like my option will be to have the Aux
input installed and put the XM stuff in myself...

But I do love my satellite radio

Check on xmfan.com and search for Delphi Roady. It's a new receiver that will be coming out in Sept. Very small unit and the ant. is about the size of a book of matches.

I've heard rumors of this tiny antenna. From what I just read at the above link, the unit will only work with cars that have a cassette player, but Delphi will be releasing a wireless unit for cars with/without cassette later this year.

As soon as my girlfriend saw the Roady, she said "It's time to replace the SkyFi."
