OEM iPod interface parts

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement docking cable for an 02 MCS OEM Ipod interface installation?

My car was broken into a few months ago and the Ipod was yanked out and the cable pulled out of the plug. I have checked everywhere and haven't found the cable available without buying the whole kit ($$). If not available I will probably opt for the Aux input.

Thanks,

ChiliCon

I wonder if the dice cable will work, it seems to be the same connector, but I don't know about the pinout, does TOM at eas know? Th MINI IPOD cable does have it's own part number. I remember the tag.

I found the schematic at realoem which indicates the cable (with individual part number) is only available as part of the kit. Same as the dealer tells me.

The p/n for the ipod cable is 65 11 0 393 656. See if you can call around and find someone just to order that part. I removed my cable this morning (installing dice kit).

Michael

you should check the OEM cable and see if it works with the DICE kit or vice versa so he can order one from EAS if it does. i have DICE but, have never lookd at the OEM kit.

OP there has to be a cable only replacement did you try the dealer yet?

AUX input works OK. sound quality is nowhere near as good as the DICE kit (OEM kit too i would imagine). and of course you get no control with the steering wheel.

if you have to replace it i would go with the DICE if you can afford it. install takes like 30 minutes. most of that time is removing the downtubes.
