HK radio just decided to not output any sound...

Hey folks.

My 04MCS already suffers from deadous ampious, otherwise know as rearious speakerious deadious.

But to my displeasure, last night I was sitting in the car and decided to turn on the radio...it lit up just fine...I did see a staion on the display...no audio from the front speakers (that is all I was left with)...thried the CD, it apears to be playing....still no sound.

Any ideas?

I notice a trend of our mini's with the KH upgrades crapping out. I can't friggin believe that. Sounds like time to contact Mini and have them cough up replacements or refunds. I mean it's not like one or two died. It really pisses me off! I have never ever had a car radio crap out.

So not to add to my list of "crap outs"
Hk Amp
HK head unit
power steering pump (on its way out)
probably front rack (steering really sloppy - over an inch play in the steering wheel)
Posessed passenger window motor...sometimes works, sometimes doesn't

Please don't get me wrong....I absolutely love the car and can deal with a lot of the issues, but the radio??? come on Harmon Kardon !!!!!!!

Wow, sorry for venting......man do I feel better....Maybe work is geting to me too..........another vent

Thanks
Jim

If it's the HK, generally the amp goes out.
Are you saying that you've already replaced the amp? I've never heard of the head unit itself dying.

the stock headunit and the h/k are the same headunit. The h/k extras are from the amp.

Tell me there is some aftermarket amp I can put in there. (I've just recently encountered the same problem). I really don't want to purchase another amp from mini that I already know is problematic.
