NAV without Bluetooth = No Voice Command?

We just got a wonderful HC/B Clubman S with NAV but no Bluetooth option.
Given the complexity of the onboard screen operation I was looking forward to pushing a voice command button on the steering wheel and saying "FM on". I would then expect to be able to choose the station by voice command also. Of course operation of the NAV system also would be much easier.

Not to be. The system in my car did not work. The service department had to contact headquarters re the problem. The answer returned after several days was that the software for the voice command on my car had not yet been finished! I am to check back with the dealer every week or so(!) to find out when it is ready.

Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe more to the point, do other people have working voice commands on the entertainment system and NAV without having the Bluetooth option?

Thanks for any help!

according to my SA.. you must have bluetooth in order for the voice command to work..

according to ASK MINI.. it is supposed to be part of the NAV system..

I am uncertain about whom to believe..

anybody without BlueTooth, with NAv have their VC working??

Astra, I started another thread on the Clubman section and got a lot more responses.
It seems that the voice command should and does work with NAV even though you do not have Bluetooth. However there was a problem at the factory for a bunch of cars and BMW has to create software to fix those cars.
Thanks for responding to this thread.
