This is probably a really stupid question, but...

I feel like I've done all the searching I can, and I'm still confused. and I've done this before but I dont know if there is something different with he MINI that I should know about.

I just have a simple question. I want to install a subwoofer. I want to put the amp where the BOOST system amp would have gone. My question is. Would it be possible to just tap into the rear 6x9's wires and run them to the Amp for the sub? Of course I would have to put in a LOC and all that jazz. I'm sorry for the really stupid question but I just need a yes or no and not one of those... "go look in the sticky at the top of the list" answers, because I've already done that.

Thank you sooooo much for your help and your kindness to newbs.

Yes, my system was installed by an audio shop and they tapped into the rear speaker wires.

thanks, thats all I needed.

mmm actually... sorry... one more... does this mean that the rear speakers would now be receiving less power to them and would then therefore be quieter?

raz636 checked the frequency response to the back speakers and got this:

Not much bass there. Here is the one for the front:

oh wow thank you! this helps a lot. especially because I'm not all too excited about tearing out the back of my car. I'll probably be putting the the amp in a more exposed location but i'm still thinking.

Thank you again!

Surfguy, you can put a good size amp under either of the front seats(assuming you dont have extra options already taking up that space). I put an Alpine PDX amp under each of the front seats of my brother's R56. I also read that people put some JL Audio 300/4's under there.
