HK Drive+Play - early iPod warning sign

This isn't exactly on topic, but the Drive+Play seems to be popular around here...

I have the Drive+Play ver. 1 in my '04 MC, and I just wanted to share my experience...it's worked really well for me, and I discovered it can be an early predictor/warning sign of an imminent iPod hard drive failure.

When we installed the Drive+Play, my wife's iPod (gen 5, made in mid 2006) worked fine with it, but it always took several more seconds to find a song on my old one (click wheel, B&W screen from 2004). It started taking longer and longer, and a few months later, the HDD in mine bit the dust. Now, my new gen. 6 iPod works perfectly in it.

So...FYI, if the D+P starts to take a little longer to find a song on your iPod...it might be time to look into getting a new one!
