PROBLEMS WITH THE REMOTE WIRE

Hello There From the sunny side of the Alps.

A few weeks ago I had have installed a new stereo system in my R56 S. The sound is just as I wanted to be but I have a few other problems:

On the stock stereo system is installed a DIETZ high-low adapter with remote wire where the problem gets tricky. The Highlow gets the power supply directly from the battery, the inputs directly from the backside of the headunit (the serial speakers are disconected from the system). In the back is a 5 ch amplifier and in the front a 3 way system which is powered by that amplifier.

The problem is with the remote wire which gets hot everytime the key is inserted. The tweter rustles even when the radio is off and I can hear the batery charging allso for maybe 2-3 minutes after starting the engine.

How can I solve this problem? This Dietz highlow adapter was previously installed in a 335i e92 with no problems and was working perfect. Is there a wire that gets hot when you turn the radio system on and that stays off when you turn the power off of the system while driving?

I would be very happy if annyone could give som advice...

Use the rear 12 volt power outlet for your remote turn on. You'll have to hit the start button before the amps power up.

oops just noticed you wanted it to work just from the radio being on or off. I misunderstood what you were asking at first. - sorry no advice on that one.
