Again, they are talking about a real speaker, not a paper cone made in, ah,,, the Ukraine!!
And the Anti-fouling paint I use on my boat which costs $250 per gallon, is supposed to last 3 years. Yet, I paint my boats hull every single year because the "3 year paint" does not last.
The point is, because some dopey guy in a laboratory measures something with a high tech instrument and then writes up his results based on that lab data, does not mean in "real life" any of it will be relevant to us driving a Mini Cooper with rock hard tires driving over rough roads....

I regret the "hifi" $500 upgrade NOT sounding very good, shame on MINI. But I don't regret getting the upgrade because it will make it easy for a small upgrade (replace speakers, add powered subwoofer). Then I'll have what MINI should have delivered in the first place.
Thanks,
~Neal
I just switched the EQ on my iPod to "Dance". It really sounds a lot better in the car now. I tried all the EQ presets and most of them sound about the same to me, but Dance emphasizes the stuff I like. The Mini's audio system really doesn't allow much EQ variation.
I use an iPod dock connector to aux port. Tried the headphone jack to aux port and this sounds way better IMO. The volume in the iPod doesn't change the volume in the car, but the EQ settings do change the sound. I used to use Bass Booster. Dance is way better to my ears in the car.
Hey I posted this on another thread a while ago. If you download mp3gain http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php
run it on your ipod and on your mp3 files in your computer and set the ipod 5th gen to r&b and it will sound fantastic, you will have to set your volume higher than normal but I still never have to set mine all the way. Hope it works for you, it's not just my opinion either it's proven to be more compliant with ipod but then again people hear differently.

oh ya and any auxiliary input no matter what kind is pretty shiesty as your mp3 player processes your music then your stereo processes it again which just tear your music apart, seriosly the best connection is one where your ipod is in a connection mode where only your stereo translates your music that is if your files themselves are of good quality, shame of you if you have 128kps songs
. All of mine are 320kps. Ok I'm done.
