SIRIUS installs - request for pics

I am thinking of getting my wife a Siruis Starmate 4 or simular for Christmas. I have sat in the cockpit of her '06 MCS, staring at the dash, trying to figure out where to mount the receiver and docking base.
I am turning to NAM for help. If you could please post pictures of where you've mounted these types of units I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm getting Sirius for Christmas. So I've been looking for the same thing-good pics of installs on the mini. Most people seem to mount them up on the pass. side downtube. If you want some pics, search "Sirius" in the gallaries. You'll get a few results.

My car's in the shop right now, but i mounted mine just in front of the lighter towards the fire wall. It fits there just fine and you can't see it from the outside. I use the remote for changing stations. Unless you have gauges there it works very well. I had it installed by BEST BUY and they did a nice clean job ( $75.00)

How are you attaching the radio unit to the plate?

I'm assuming that you must want a radio to take in and out of the car, huh? The factory radio is Sirius ready if I'm not mistaken. Mine is hard-wired...just had to buy the antenna and wiring and MINI did the install. NOTHING like hardwired Satellite Radio!!!!!!!!

Just screws into the back on the radio. I'll post pics if you want.

No I think I get it... there's a little plate on the back of my Sirrius receiver unit that has a place for a screw. It's removable - you just push the unit sideways to disengage the clips. The clips look really cheap, though and might crack/break over time, though... I want to use the unit in my car as well as in my office, yes - I have the "Home Kit" for my unit on order as we speak...

ONE QUESTION on the bracket, though... I have the OEM cup holder up higher - will that bracket install lower, like, say near the OEM switch panel, without fouling the passenger's knees or anything else?

Thanks for all the replies. I searched the gallery but didn't see anything that floats my boat. I am looking for something like what Checkers described, though. Somewhere under the toggle switch bar, but still keeping the small storage area accessible.
Checkers-Could you forward a photo of your install after you get the car back from the shop? Maybe that will help me brainstorm a bit.

I found this last night. I think with a little modification it would support a satellite radio unit. There are no mounts for Directed Electronics which makes a lot of the units but if you own a drill I think this would work.

Here is how I mounted my Sirius Sportster. It has the advantage of being able to reach the radio from the driver's seat without needing to use the remote. I used the mount that came with the radio and some creative use of double-sided tape.

MY idea also

This is where I have been planning to install mine also. Same unit. I made a bracket for mounting though. Just have a few issues with it here so far during the trial install.. First is the distance it is from me. It's hard to read at times unless you really remember all of the controls. It's also so far down that looking for a sec to see whats on or whatever takes my eyes off the road for too long. During the day I tend to need the brightest setting but at night the damm thing is way too bright and is a hastle to change. The bracket from E bay that was posted here was the next idea I had. I am glad I saw it tonight because tomorrow the reciever is going to go there.

After some more deliberation with the wife, we came up with something quite close to this. We kind miss the cup holder, but we're dealing with the loss
Thanks again for all of the relpies!
