Another iPod controller option?

Hi,

I know this topic has been burned over and over, but here is another thing to look into.

I have been doing a lot of research on the iPod controllers and I have made my decision to 99.9% on the DICE.

But then another option was brought to my attention....
ISBM71 made by "Peripheral"

There aren't too many specifications on the last one, including price and features. But can anyone enlighten me? Has any one tired it? Anyone have any opinions?

I have used them both (Peripheral in another car) and I like the DICE unit much better! I have it currently installed in my 05 MCS. I have had not problems with it at all.

My iPod is a different story... my 60 GIG video iPod does not like being left in the rear boot compartment of the mini overnight when it is 15 degrees outside. lol

I have the whole DICE kit installed in the right rear boot compartment and that is also where I keep my iPod. Since I can control everything from the factory radio & steering wheel I decided not to runt the wires and install it in the glove box. (Really no reason too)

The Peripheral kit is very limited compared to the DICE:

The BMW kit and DICE have the same core functions (steering wheel/radio control), iPod charging and direct iPod connection), the DICE goes a bit further in features:

- Text display on your radio or navigation display (2005+)
- unlimited Playlists (Peripheral kit is limited to only 5)
- ability to browse by song, album or Playlist
- Integrated AUX input

Most people choose the DICE kits, hope this helps.

Thanks a lot guys! I think when I find $150 laying around, I'll make the plunge on the Dice.

I'm getting the Gateway from MikeyTheMINI (NewMINIstuff) to put in GBMINI#6 soon - one feature I really liked is that it apparently has an A-Z search mode (after finding how hard it was to search for music when I tried the R56, I think an A-Z feature will be very useful!)

I'll be sure to write up on GBMINI when it's in and working
