Dension Ice Link in a 2002 MCS?

I have searched the archives with no luck finding a definitive answer to the question:

Does the Denison Ice Link work with a 2002? Is there anyone with an 02 that is using this set-up? I would rather not spend money for something that will not work. All responses appreciated.

I've got it in a 2003 MCS. The one I have runs through the CD changer port on the radio. Sorry I can't help with a 2002.

It will, however the Dension kits were discontinued about 2 years ago due to reliability/support problems and eventually pulled out of the US. The DICE has since taken the place of the previous Dension kits.

This is the kit you need:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for Mini Cooper (Radio Interface)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=629

The DICE iPod Kit will integrate perfectly with your MINI and offer steering wheel control (if equipped) and charging of your iPod. Full CD Quality can be expected after installation. There's even an integrated AUX port for other devices.

The kit will come with everything needed w/ the docking cable. The iPod can be safely stored away in the glove compartment for 100% stealth installation and accessed completely from the steering wheel controls (if equipped).

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Any idea of what type of problems? A NAM member is selling one. Would it be safe to assume that if the product worked for him that it might be one of the "good" ones and free of defects? Or is it more likely that it could work fine one day and not the next? I realize an answer might in all likelihood require a crystal ball to answer but it doesnt hurt ask.

Thanks for your response.

Some icelinks have no problems, it's impossible to say this specific module will be problem-free. A good example would be the units found on eBay, which are liquidated returns from Best Buy/Futureshop.
