Bluetooth adaptor kit

Perhaps this has been answered before but couldn't find it. I am looking for the bluetooth adaptor kit for a Motorola Razr phone that goes in the center console thingy. Is the dealer the only place to get this item? Haven't been able to find anywhere else. Thanks for the info.

You mean the phone cradle that slips in the OEM armrest right?

I got mine from my dealer ($140). Pelican Parts has it too (see link).

Another thread about this.

Mine cost $112 back in September from Classic Mini in Ohio. They offer a NAM member discount.

Are these cradles really worth the cost? I am using a regular phone charger and my phone is working great. I just wonder why go to all the expense beside the nice little hiding place for it? Is the reception better? Is the call quality better?

I haven't been able to notice a big difference in call quantity, even though the cradle connects to the car's internal antenna. It's more for convenience than anything else.

Do they have a website or do you need to phone them to get the NAM discount?

They have a website, but it doesn't complete the transaction and you need to talk with them anyway. I just called and talked with them over the phone. 440-266-6700 and ask for the parts department.

I also bought my Ipod adaptor and Sirius radio through them.

Called Classic Mini and talked to Paul in parts and he hooked me up for $112.00 plus shipping including the 20% "nam-er" discount. Thanks for the tip Sowellman.

Glad to help and to see the price hasn't gone up yet. When I first talked with them, they hadn't ordered one of the inserts yet, and they even argued that the part number was for something else. After I explained it to them some more, they did some more checking and found out that it was what I said.

Be careful, installing it, though. The instruction book I received was in German only. I had to figure it out for myself how to press the button on the dummy insert and remove it and snap the working one in.

I got the same book with mine, all in German. But my car came with a separate manual for the bluetooth phone prep option, which included instructions to remove the insert and install the phone cradle.
