It took me 2 min. to install the AUX cable behind the H/K head unit. all I had to do was follow these instructions...

----Removal of the knee bolster is required to gain access to the upper torx screw on the driver's side dash downtube, or to install the European [driver's side] parcel shelf.

The knee bolster is anchored at the top and hinged on the bottom.

To remove it:

Grab the top edge with both hands.

Pull down sharply keeping the pressure toward the direction of the door in order to prevent the bolster from scratching the downtube when it comes free.

Rotate downward and pull out.

----------------------------

After I removed the Knee Bolster I reached behind felt the back of the H/K unit. After finding the right spot I just pluged the cable in and I was done!!!

I didn't want to install the jack in the glove box because I bought a mount kit for my Ipaq. So I ran the cable to the bottom of all the switch panel and screw it in there. This kit was a dealer purchase for $40. Hope this helps some of you...I'm going to go and download some music on my Ipaq.... later!!

Like I said in my previous post, you do not need to take the head unit apart! All you have to do is follow these instructions…

Removal of the knee bolster.

The knee bolster is anchored at the top and hinged on the bottom.

To remove it:

Grab the top edge “where it has a half moon cut because of the steering column” with both hands.

Pull down sharply keeping the pressure toward the direction of the door in order to prevent the bolster from scratching the down tube when it comes free.

Look at where your steering column is coming down and grab the top half round part of the knee bolster. The knee bolster is where your knees touch when your seat is too far forward. Grab the top and pull on it, it will release from the dash. After it releases you can swing it down because it is on hinges. You do not need to remove it. Now you have access to the back of the unit. You will not be able to see the back of the head unit but you will be able to feel it. Look at the instruction that came with the AUX cable and with feel try to plug the cable in to the back of the unit. It took me 2 tries to find the hole it plugs into. This was a lot easier then removing the head unit and it only took 2 minutes to do. No screw removal necessary!!

The hole on the other side of the AUX cable is the same kind of hole a headphone jack plugs into. Got to your nearest radio shack or stereo store and purchase male to male wire to fit one end to the AUX and the other to an Ipaq, Ipod, laptop…
