So wait does the car come with bluetooth?

I am confused....I am buying a MCS does it come with bluetooth connection or do I have to pay extra for it? I have seen stuff about an external antenna but thats extra bluetooth stuff in addition to the stuff that comes with it right?

The Bluetooth feature is indeed an option (called "Bluetooth Prep"). It is currently $600 from the factory (it includes the $200 armrest option). For the 2008 models, the Bluetooth prep will also include a USB port allowing you to plug a USB thumb drive (or iPod with an optional adapter) into the USB port and play audio files stored on it on the MINI's radio.

It is $600, but I think it's worth it. I really only used my bluetooth headset when driving. Since I got my Mini, I never even take my headset with me anymore!

What do you mean I thought the USB slots only came on the 08's? If getting bluetooth gets me the USB slot then hell its worth the money to me then my ipod will charge as it plays.

If you have a phone that pairs with it, I am sure it is quite a nice feature. I have a Treo 750 and have had nothing but VERY frustrating experiences . There are a bunch of threads on this subject. Be Careful.

I hate to say it but I'd say the blame most likely lies with Palm on this one and not with MINI/BMW. Treos are notorious for having really crappy Bluetooth capabilities. Palm is behind the times when it comes to BT (and their Palm OS can really use a decent update as well - although I can't recall if the 750 is Palm OS based or Windows Mobile OS based off the top of my head).
