Bummed

I just received my Focal 165V3's that i purchased off ebay (new) and they are not as described.
Focal crossovers were not provided. Instead, i have Diamond Audio S6.0x Hex series crossovers that have woofer, tweeter, and rear fill outputs. The rear is full frequency attenuated 10db.
I have emailed the seller but i am not sure how they can fix this.
I was looking forward to getting a 4ch amp, stealing the signal from the front input, using the focal crossovers, and using the other 2ch for a subwoofer.

Also, the styrafoam that is was packaged in was trashed and the 4" mounting tabs suffered greatly.
The 6" woofers look to be authentic Focal product, i am not sure about the 4" as the sticker under the rubber magnet protector does not say focal like the 6" one does.

Anyone know where i can get Polyglass V3e, V3, or V3R crossovers?

Sorry, dude.

Hopefully you can get your money back. Did you pay via PayPal?

I did pay via paypal with my credit card. There are a few different avenues that i can take to try and get my money back. The question is, will i be expected to get the item back to him on my bill?

Are you sure they are real Focals? IIRC, there have been some counterfit ones.

Yunno, I do 90% of my high end purchases on ebay! I have never had a problem with ebay and I've purchased thousands of dollars worth of musical gear and electronic equipment with 0 hitches.

I recently purchased a JL Audio 500/1, a JL Audio 300/4, and a set of Focal KP2's and I couldn't be happier. Maybe I've been lucky, but I do check out the feedback. Each of these products came with serial numbers and warranties from the companies.

BTW, FWIW, the Focal K2p's fit great in the doors behind the stock panels.

File a complaint with e-bay right away. That seller knew the item wasn't as described when he sent it.

Sorry that happened to you. I've bought focals twice off ebay and both times got the real deal brand new for great prices.

That is great news. I'll be doing some swapping the end of this month.

That sucks... I would buy them locally from a real dealer for a warranty and some piece of mind... It just sucks that they gave you the wrong crossovers and banged up stuff. If anyone in florida wants em let me know! I'm an authorized dealer and have a set of V3Rs going into my cooper this week.

Have fun!

I found a local person selling a set of JL audio 3 way crossovers from JL's similar 3 way speaker set. I am thinking of going for it. anyone see any downfalls to this?
I have not heard from the ebay seller yet....

Depends on the crossover points... I'd try to get your money back from the other guy that gave you the wrong stuff and use the real focal stuff when you get it. My $.02 tho.
