Who out there has the Delphi Skyfi system?

Does the Blitzsafe adaptor work best, or would the MINI authorized auxiliary audio input accessory be the way to go?

Does the system come with an antenna that you can mount inside the car?

I have a million questions about this. Message me privately if you prefer, so I can find out more on this.

By the way, for all interested, Delphi has a $30 off coupon available on their web site for their products right now, until July 7.

I have it. I love it. I mounted the antenna to the back of the back seat. Works fine. I used Blitzsafe, because there was no Aux. port in '02. It also matches the amber interior lights of the MINI.

LOVE IT. Mounted the unit in front of the cig lighter. Night lights match perfectly, remote control does everything else. Antenna was brought forward thru the bulkhead into the engine compartment and comes out and sits between the wipers with a magnetic mount. Caution: Glue a piece of felt to the bottom of the ant. also, becareful of the position....too far left....into the path of wiper.....too far forward path of bonnet open and closure
Enjoy

I since moved the radio to the left of the steering weel, will post a pic later, but this is how it looked a few months ago:

BTW, that's a cool idea to put the antenna on the bonnet of the car!

okay, I'm gonna try to sort this all out. if anyone can help with the gaps, i'd appreciate it.

want to get the SkyFi. want to use the MINI aux audio cable, then wire it into the ciggie lighter (or is there a better power source?) Aux preferred, as I have no casette for the typical audio input (or is there another).

So where do I get the antenna for the Skyfi? And I'm guessing placement is best on dash on inside boot window. Is the best antenna the same one that comes with the Skyfi boom box? (i know someone who has this)

Anything that you knowledgable people out there can school me on would be appreciated.

Phobol. The tach side mounting looks great.

I have the SkyFi and love it. My perennial question is how do you run the wires with the side tach system (sorry, I am new to this).

How is the mounting surface to the left of the tach. My MCS doesn't come in til August so I'm flying completely blind on this.

Thanks

Tom

I would also like to see some daylight pictures of these mountings. What mounts are you using? The swivel mounth that came with the SkyFi car kit doesn't seem to be made very well and also doesn't lend itself well to being placed anywhere in the MINI. I just had the AUX input jack installed yesterday and am now playing with the SkyFi trying to figure out the best placement. I think underneath the toggles looks the best but I need to be able to insert and remove the unit easily and it's a little cramped down there.

Also, what seems to be best antenna placment? I've tried putting it up on the dash by the font window and it seemed to work fine. I would think it would get a better signal there than on the rear deck somewhere.

Thanks!

How did you run the antenna to the dash? Is the antenna wire exposed or did you feed it somehow?

Wow, sorry guys, I wasn't here for a bit, didn't see all the questions.

How did I mount it?
- I used the mount that came with SkyFy's car kit. Stuck it right to the dash.

Where's the antenna?
- I ran the antenna wire to the back and stuck it to the back of the back seat. Cables are hidden under and in the rubber mouldings by carpet and door. Antenna has a magnet in it, The back of the seat is steel. It all worked out.

Where to get the antenna?
- antenna comes with SkyFi.

How do you run the wires?
- I have a parcel shelf, though you could easily do it with the standard boulge under the steering column. I ran the wires under the weel, behind the cover under the center controls (where the "cubby hole" would go) then to the other side and in the door rubber molding to the back where i have the BlitzSafe.

For the power, I bought a little 4 way splitter for the sig. lighter. Mounted it to the bottom of the control console. Plugged the adaptor in it. It actually looks stock (kinda)

Daytime Pictures?
- Will try to take some today and post them.

Where the hell am I that it's so hot?
- I'm in NJ, but it's no the temp readout, it's the range. LOL

Motor On!

here are the day pics I promised. Don't mind the blue tape, I broke the crade and had to tape it together as a quick-fix and it just stayed that way..

This is a four plug extention I bought for numerous gadgets:

I was just testing it out... just put the antenna up there with the wire across the front of the dash.

I looked to see if there were any obvious places to run the cable through the firewall to mount the antenna in front of the window but I didn't see anything obvious... to a mere human anyway.

Great pics! Thanks!

I liked the look of the skyfi to the right of the center console where you had it first so the passenger can see and adjust it too. I may investigate trying to get it down there. There's a ProClips clip that fits over that way. I might be able to use that and then some sort of swivel mount.
