For XM Fans: Where did you put your XM SkyFi unit?

I've had the original SkyFi unit in my 02 MCS for a couple of years now but never was happy with both where I put it, or the method by which it was attached. I have an '05 coming in a few weeks and will want to put a SkyFi 2 in there, but still have no clue as to the best way to do this.

Anyone care to share where and how they mounted their unit in their MINIs??

Cheers

Paul

Get a MyFi. That alone will improve the looks of the install, just because the unit looks so much cooler. It goes with the MINI interior pretty well, I think. The price has really been coming down too. I have one, but never mounted it in my car (got the xmdirect/blitzsafe for the car).

go xm direct. No cluttering up the dash with more gadgets. Clean and invisible

The XM Direct looks pretty neat, I like the idea of not having more devices up front. Only concern I have is where/how to put the antenna as the new one is a convertible, doesn't seem to be much information on that here. But thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, that link is to my site, I don't like it any more.

I had it mounted like this on my 2003 EB/B S

However I have since purchased a Cabrio S and now just place the MyFi unit in the cup holder. The rubber ribs hold it near perfect and somewhat snug. Best of all the reception is better wirelessly in part I think due to the canvas top. So much so I have not had to run an antena. Very clean and portable.
