Garmin vs Airplane Pilot

Was traveling by air this weekend. I remembered someone here saying that they tracked the speed of the plane they were in. Thought maybe they were kidding. Nope, it really does work, even gives elevation and somewhat of a ground location. Mine tracked at 452mph and 24,000 something ft. I told the pilot when we got off. He said on a GPS, said yep, he said nope, he was cut way back to only 280 knots. I said ya, right on, Charlotte to Richmond in less than an hour!!

BTW, my GPS has an English accent and a little blue car that resembles a MINI!

I think you are referring to my earlier post regarding my experience with a NUVI 350 while on a flight from Houston to Columbus.

My Garmin III was able to track speed and elevation on the Concorde. Of course, I had to hold it next to the window for it to work!
