Subwoofer

Okay I think I know the answer, but can a person hook up an amp and sub to the stock R53 head unit? I like the steering wheel audio control and don't want to lose the stock head unit. Can this be done? Are there audio cable outs on the unit, or a way to wire them in?

no audio outputs but many amps can take speaker level input (just solder some RCA ends on the wire and tap off the rear speakers).

Or pick up a line level converter and wire that in. That's what I intend to do with mine.

FYI they also make wire harness adapters to use aftermarket decks with steering controls
